Bring tired oak, maple, or pine back to life. We sand down to clean wood, fill nail holes and small gaps, then apply your choice of stain and a durable polyurethane finish. Most jobs done in 3–5 days.

How much does it cost to refinish hardwood floors in El Paso?
For most El Paso homes, hardwood refinishing runs $3.50–$6.00 per square foot, depending on the condition of the existing floor, the stain choice, and the finish (water-based vs oil-based). A typical 800 sq ft project lands around $2,800–$4,800. We give a flat written quote — no hourly surprises.
How long does hardwood refinishing take?
Most projects are 3 to 5 days: one day to sand, one to two days for stain and first coats, and one to two days for final coats and dry time. The room is usable in stocking feet about 24 hours after the final coat, and back to normal use in 7 days.
Should I install tile or luxury vinyl plank in my El Paso home?
Tile is best for wet areas (bathrooms, mudrooms, laundry) and high-end finishes. Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) is best for whole-house projects, rentals, basements over slab, and anywhere kids and pets are tough on floors. LVP is 100% waterproof, warmer underfoot than tile, and 30–50% cheaper installed. We’ll walk you through the trade-off on the free site visit.
Can you install tile over an existing tile floor?
Sometimes — but most of the time we don’t recommend it. Doing it right means checking that the existing tile is solid, the height transition won’t trap doors, and the substrate can carry the extra weight. In nine out of ten cases we get a longer-lasting result by removing the old tile and prepping the subfloor properly. We’ll tell you straight on the site visit which makes sense for your project.
Is luxury vinyl plank really waterproof?
Yes — quality LVP (the planks themselves) are 100% waterproof. Water won’t damage the plank, but seams and transitions still need to be installed correctly to keep moisture from reaching the subfloor. We use spec-grade LVP and proper underlayment, especially over concrete. That’s why our LVP installs hold up in El Paso bathrooms and laundry rooms.
Do you provide the flooring material, or do I buy it?
Both work. We get contractor pricing at Floor & Decor, ProSource, and local distributors and pass it through. If you’ve already bought material at Home Depot, Lowe’s, or online, no problem — we’ll install what you have. Bring the spec sheet so we can verify the install method matches the warranty.
Do you do flooring for rental properties?
Yes, and we do a lot of it. Landlords and property managers in El Paso, Horizon City, and Socorro use us for fast turnover work — LVP between tenants, tile in bathrooms, hardwood refinishing on whole-house flips. We schedule fast, work clean, and we’re easy to reach when something comes up.
Will the dust from sanding wreck my house?
No. We use a dustless sanding system that captures 95%+ of the dust at the sander. We also seal off rooms with plastic and tape vents. You’ll have minor dust on horizontal surfaces — nothing like the old-school refinishing your parents remember.
Do you offer a warranty?
Every flooring install comes with a 1-year workmanship warranty in writing. If a board lifts, a grout line cracks, or a transition fails because of how we installed it, we come back and fix it free. Material defects are covered by the manufacturer (we’ll handle the claim for you).
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — Castro Brothers Solutions LLC is fully licensed and insured in Texas. Certificate of insurance available on request. We pull permits when the scope requires it.
